White vs. Iridescent Glitz Glitter Gel

Hello! Today I have a video up comparing the white Glitz Glitter Gel with the Iridescent Glitz Glitter Gel. I am a part of the Save the Craft YouTubers Video Hop, with lots of prizes to be won (on every channel of the hop)!

I am also making a couple cards with the cutest Lawn Fawn images….and I’m giving away this stamp set! Check out the video below or on YouTube:

It’s a fun look at the differences between the gels on both black & white cardstock AND on a couple cards.

I hope you enjoy! Thanks for stopping by

I’m often asked what supplies I use to make my cards and projects, so I’ve put together a list using affiliate links when possible. If you make a purchase with these links I may receive a small commission. These help me to keep up with blog costs and continue bringing you fun projects. Thank you so much for your support!

Crazy Neighbor Holiday House

Hello! Today I have a fun card inspired by my neighbor’s holiday decorations. This year they have gone all out with lights, lawn decorations, and blow-up characters. It’s fun to see!

That is what gave me the idea to create a Holiday House on a card.

This house is decked out with glittery lights, Christmas trees in candy cane pots, a holiday wreath and door frame decor, and even a holiday welcome mat. The porch light has been changed to green…and I think whoever lives here just loves this time of year!

I had a great time putting this together and it made me feel a little better to create a decorated home on a card since we didn’t put up any Christmas lights this year! We wanted to, of course, but work and other things got in the way until (I thought) it was just too late to pull out all the lights.

I have a video to show you all the fun, watch it below or on YouTube:

Did you decorate for the holidays this year? We DID decorate inside with our tree, ornaments, and stockings for all the kids and grandkids….it’s just OUTSIDE that looks a little grinch-ish. Lol.

Wishing you a very happy holiday season. I hope you feel so much love this time of year, whatever your traditions and decorations are. See you soon with more inspiration.

Christmas is the Perfect Reason

Hello! Christmas is the perfect reason to send cards! Yes! And today I have a fun project with a sentiment that says just that.

This sentiment is fun to remind those people in your life that they are HANDMADE CARD worthy!! Lol. I know you know what I’m talking about…if you make handmade cards that is. Only the best people get a handmade card!

For this card I did some ink blending with my new favorite domed ink blending tools. Then I splattered on some white Gansai Tambi paint. Those cute little Christmas lights were colored using Copic markers. I added silver embossing powder to the part that screws into the strand, and some glitter glue to all the lightbulbs for a bit of sparkle. You know I love my sparkle!

I popped up each individual light onto the strand using foam tape.

This is a simple enough card to make, but I don’t think it would be good for mass production with all those little lights. Maybe if you left them flat and didn’t pop them up it would be much faster.

I’m often asked what supplies I use to make my cards and projects, so I’ve put together a list using affiliate links when possible. If you make a purchase with these links I may receive a small commission. These help me to keep up with blog costs and continue bringing you fun projects. Thank you so much for your support!

full-card-2

Once Upon a Dream

Hello…I’m here with one more card for the Lawnfawnatics card challenge: inspired by a book, movie, or song!

Today I was inspired by Sleeping Beauty and I have a TALL card to share. I had to make this a tall card just so I could fit all the elements onto my card. Lol.

Do you recognize Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather? There’s also of course, Malificent at the top! And the owl with his animal friends represents the prince! If you have seen the animated version, you know that she is dreaming of her prince and her animal friends create this rendition of the perfect man!

I drew the boots and the cape myself, but the rest of the characters are from the following Lawn Fawn sets:

Screen Time (for Malificent)
Life Is Good (for the castle)
Fairy Friends (for Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather)
Critters in the Arctic (for the owl)
Open Me (for the birds)
Coaster Critters (for the small rabbit and squirrel)
Cole’s ABCs (for the die cut letters that spell DREAM)

Not Bad….only 7 sets this time! Lol.

Extra points if you guess why I did the background with pink and blue!!
It’s a nod to the end of the animated Sleeping Beauty when the fairies couldn’t agree on what color dress she should have, so they kept changing it to BLUE then to PINK and back to BLUE… Lol.

I know you…I walked with you Once Upon A Dream
Flora, Fauna, & Merryweather

For the background I used Distress Oxides, then I splattered on some white paint. Then to make the “magical sparkles” I used a white gel pen to add a million little dots. Lol.

I hope you enjoyed my Inspired By….Sleeping Beauty card today. I just realized how ironic it is that there is no sign of Sleeping Beauty herself on this card. I guess she’s inside the castle!

Linking up to the Lawnfawnatics Challenge here.
