Patriotic Flip Flops

Hello and Happy 4th of July! Today I have some patriotic flip flops to share…inspired by a pair of flip flops I actually own.

I die cut the flip flops from white cardstock and then inked up the blue one with Vegas Strip ink. I used a stripe stencil from my stash to ink on the red stripes with Telephone Box ink. I used these same colors to ink up the straps.

Then I used a mini star stencil from my stash to add embossing paste on the blue flip flop. I set this aside to fully dry.

To assemble the card, I used a background paper from Honeybee stamps. I layered 3 sets of straps per flip flop and attached them with liquid adhesive.

Of course I had to add a gemstone! Then I stamped the sentiment with the same blue ink and die cut with matching dies.

I’m often asked what supplies I use to make my cards and projects, so I’ve put together a list using affiliate links when possible. If you make a purchase with these links I may receive a small commission. These help me to keep up with blog costs and continue bringing you fun projects. Thank you so much for your support!

Thanks for stopping by today! Happy 4th of July!

Fun Fold Card with Nesting Dolls

Hello! Today I’m featuring the new Nesting Dolls stamp set from Maker Forte. I made 2 cards to share, the first one is an A2 card and the second card is a fun fold card that opens in an accordian style.

Here’s my first card:

Just look at that floral detail on those nesting dolls! For the background I simply clear heat embossed Vintage Damask over the blue cardstock.

For the fun fold card, I first used a button embossing folder and spread on some foundry wax with my finger. Then I heat set that and cut down the panels to fit perfectly on each section. I also used a belly band that says “With Love” to keep this card together for gifting.

I love how this turned out! I put the largest nesting doll on the front, with a medium sized one in the center, and the smallest one in the back.

If you want to recreate this card fold, start with 1/2 of a sheet of cardstock long-wise (4 1/4″ x 11″).

Then, score the long panel at: 1.5″, 3″, 5.5″, and 8″

Here are the measurements for the 3 red panels:
Panel 1: 1 1/4″ x 4″
Panel 2: 2 1/4″ x 4″
Panel 3: 2 3/4″ x 4″

I’m often asked what supplies I use to make my cards and projects, so I’ve put together a list using affiliate links when possible. If you make a purchase with these links I may receive a small commission. These help me to keep up with blog costs and continue bringing you fun projects. Thank you so much for your support!

Add Flock to your Card

Hello, today I have a fun video share on how to add flock to your cards. I used some SUNSHINE yellow flock with a bananas stencil to create some fuzzy dimension.

Watch the video below or in HD on YouTube:

The great part about using flock sheets, is you get TWO panels you can use to create cards! See…here’s the first panel and then I used the negative piece to create another card, below:

Watch the video to find out just how this magic happens! Lol…it’s really fun to use these flock sheets. They can also be die cut! Oh, the possibilities!

For Your Princess…and Gamer

Hello! Today I’m sharing some Princess and Gaming cards. These are from the new Young At Heart Collection from Maker Forte and they are so fun.

This princess is among my favorites and I simply stenciled the background and foiled an oval spotlight for her. I colored the image with Copic Markers and picked my FAVORITE sentiment!

Speaking of favorite princesses, there is a brand new set called Once Upon a Time that I ADORE! I have actually colored them up to look like certain famous princesses, but I’ve only had time to turn one of them into a card:

She looks pretty in pink, don’t you think? I added some white gel pen detail to her outfit to make it “sparkle.” That background is made with some shapes from the Boho Watercolor stamp set (it’s so great for creating patterns!) I added some chameleon sparkle paper behind this princess to make her pop.

This card was a breeze to make because that background is a printed paper!! I just colored up and added that carriage with a crown on top, then added a sentiment! So magical.

This last card is for the gamer in your life! Do you remember those hand-held gaming devices? Loved those!

I’m often asked what supplies I use to make my cards and projects, so I’ve put together a list using affiliate links when possible.
