Water Stencil Technique

I cannot stop making rainbow cards! Today I thought I’d try another technique stamping with water to “Bleach” the background a little.

I’m using the Ellen Hutson Bold Blooms set and the Avery Elle Fill-In-the-Blanks set (a few of my favorites!) Here’s how it turned out:

Doesn’t that look cool how the water just sort of wicks away that color?!? Here I used Distress Inks on watercolor paper. It’s a neat technique and you can try it with a stencil OR a stamp! This card is for a friend that just landed a new job. I think this card is great for that celebration.

Day 5: a Rainbow Burst Sky

I absolutely adored a card made by Jennifer McGuire in Rainbow Maker class today. I didn’t have any glitter embossing paste like she used, so instead I used a sparkly embossing powder.

After I finished the rainbow background, I couldn’t bear to cover up the gorgeousness so I used vellum for my images. You can still see some of that color through the vellum.

This hot air balloon set from Waffle Flower is a favorite of mine! Isn’t the radiating rainbow with sparkly rays so mesmerizing?! Thanks for the inspiration, Jennifer!

Day 4: Watercolor Smooshing

Today was a great day for the Rainbow Maker Class! I wanted to make every single card that was taught, and I probably still will. But for now I have an Ink Smooshing card inspired by Laura Bassen.

I heat embossed the sentiment (from Reverse Confetti) with Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder. It is difficult to tell in this picture, but in real life it’s like a muted silvery gold color. So pretty!

I added a few sequins to finish it off. Hope you like it!

This is the remaining piece from making this card. I covered the “hugs” die with glossy accents so it’s nice and shiny in real life. Hope you enjoy!

Supplies Used:
Neat & Tangled triangle die
Simon Says Stamp Hugs die
Waffle Flower Bear & Bird stamp set
Distress Inks

Day 3: Rainbow Die Cuts (Part 5)

Well, I couldn’t resist. I had so much fun on Day 3 of Rainbow Maker and I had to make ANOTHER card (or two!) Lol. This time I was inspired by May Park and I made this card using a Neat & Tangled die:

Of course, when I made it, I had a separate piece that I just HAD to use up, too. I’ll share that card in the next post!

Loving all the rainbow gorgeousness this week!
